MyProtel Changes – December 2016

  • Improvements & additions to search page
  • Introducing searchable update history
  • Available now for all existing subscribers

Over the past few months we’ve been busy looking at ways to make it easier for MyProtel subscribers to identify projects of most interest to them. We also wanted to make it easier for you to track the progress of projects as they move through the various phases from pre-sanction to completion.

This has led to a new way of logging project updates (displayed on individual project bulletin pages), together with some improvements to the Project Search area, both of which are effective immediately. You’ll see the MyProtel changes become live as soon as you refresh the page and don’t need to do anything to trigger the new features.

Easily Spot Changes with ‘View Update History’

When you view a project report from MyProtel you will now see a new ‘View update history’ link at the top and bottom of the page. Clicking on this will open a new screen showing dated updates to the project, the most recent being at the top. Changes to projects, such as Status, Schedule, Value, Contacts etc, will be logged to show what they’ve changed from and to, e.g. Schedule changed: Approval for Expenditure changed from 2017 Q2 to 2017 Q4. This screen also has a Search field to allow you to look up specific changes throughout the history of the project.

A Better Keyword Search – Scope Section & Keywords

When viewing a project, you’ll see that the ‘Scope’ is now in a section of its own called ‘Scope Keywords’. This is very much like the previous Scope section but we’ve now standardised the use of scope terms and applied this to all projects. The main reason for making this change is to provide you with a new field on the Project Search screen called ‘Scope keyword search’. By typing a project requirement of interest to you, for example ‘filtration’, the available options will display – in this case ‘biofiltration’, ‘filtration’, ‘HEPA filtration’ and ‘ultrafiltration’. Clicking on the required item will add it to the list of terms to be used in your search.

A New Way to Find Relevant Projects – Search by Product Type

myprotel changes search by product type

The Search screen also has a new field called ‘Search by product type’. Under each of the main sector categories (Food, Pharma etc) we allocate one or more sub-categories based on the type of product the project will focus on.

So you could, for example, enter ‘secondary’ in the new field, ‘Pharma’ in the Sector field and ‘Packaging’ under Key Needs to find projects involving the packaging of secondary pharmaceuticals. More specific product types could also be selected such as ‘solid dose’ or ‘injectables’. This field works in the same way as the ‘Scope Keywords’ field, allowing you to enter numerous product types in one search.
