Latest Project Bulletins

What industry sectors does Protel cover?

Protel’s focus is on process industry which includes the food, drink, pharma/biotech, chemical, waste treatment and energy generation sectors. Protel provides a separate Project Bulletin service for laboratory suppliers.

What geographical areas are covered?
Protel focuses on projects within the UK and Ireland.

Why is Protel different from any other sales lead provider?
Protel doesn’t rely on information that already exists in the public domain, instead we go in search of early intelligence to give clients greater commercial advantage.

Does that mean some projects are ‘sensitive’ with the client?
In some cases, yes. But where sensitivity is an issue we’ll advise accordingly.

How does Protel get information on projects?
Through our wide network of industry contacts we talk directly to main contractors and end users to ensure that information is relevant, early and accurate.

How many projects does Protel cover?
On average we report on around 400 process projects (all sectors) and 100 laboratory projects each year.

How will I receive the information?
New and updated project information is sent by email each week and can also be accessed via our online project search facility.

Does Protel continue to track reported projects?
Yes, subscribers can see the latest status of projects via our online project search facility. Also, when projects are subject to a significant change, updates are provided by email.

Does Protel offer any support services?
Our researchers are available to answer specific questions on projects that we’ve reported. Also, through partnering arrangements we are able to assist with other aspects of sales such as training, telesales and bidding processes.

How much does a subscription cost?
Accessing the service through MyProtel there are a number of subscription options available and prices will vary accordingly. The subscription options available are as follows:

MyProtel FAQs

What is MyProtel?
MyProtel is a web-based application that provides Protel’s subscribers with the ability to access and then search our database of over 1000 ‘live’ Project Bulletins.

How do I access MyProtel?
To access MyProtel all you need is an Internet connection, a username and a password. MyProtel is a web-based service that can be found at the following URL: http://www.myprotel.co.uk/
How do I get my username and password?
Once you are a subscriber, you will be sent a username and password to allow you to login to the system.
Why have you launched MyProtel?
We undertook an extensive Customer Survey at the beginning of 2011 and this survey identified a number of improvements our customers wanted in the way that we provide our Project Bulletin information. Particularly there was considerable feedback about the desire to ‘personalise’ the service around each subscriber’s information needs. Many of the changes we have made to improve the service via MyProtel have been introduced as a direct result of this feedback. We believe that through MyProtel we will deliver all the key improvements our subscribers told us they wanted and needed to ensure that they got the maximum value from their investment with Protel.
How is MyProtel different or better than your existing web service?
The key ways in which we have improved the service revolve around two key principles: firstly, providing our subscribers with the ability to ‘personalise’ the service around their particular needs and, secondly, providing the data in as ‘granular’ form as possible to allow for very targeted searching of the database. This means that you can now search the database in a much more refined way (for example: by region, by project value, by project status, by key needs, by key project dates) and you can set up and save search profiles so that you only get to see the information that you are interested in. There are many other ways in which we have improved the service – including the ability to ‘track’ projects and receive alerts by email / SMS when your tracked projects are updated – and we recommend that you login and try the service for yourself to see the full extent of these improvements.
Will I still receive the bulletins via a weekly email?
The short answer to this question is “no”. For a short period after the launch of MyProtel, we will continue to send the bulletins by email every week as we currently do. This parallel distribution of the bulletins will, however, stop after 2 weeks and after this time the only way to access the full details of the Project Bulletins will be via the MyProtel system. We will continue to send an email out every week with headlines of the Bulletins that we have added or amended in the previous week but you will need to login to MyProtel to see the bulletins in detail.
There is more than one person in my organisation that needs access to the Bulletins, can I have more than one username and password?
As an existing subscriber the answer is “yes”. We will provide usernames and passwords to all the valid users of the information at your organisation. If we do not already have these users on our records, you will need to provide us with their details.
I used to email relevant bulletins to different members of our sales team, will I still be able to do this using MyProtel?
Using MyProtel gives you the option to directly send a copy of a bulletin as an email or you can download any Bulletin as either a PDF or XML document – these documents can then sent as an email attachment in the normal way.
Can I download Contact Information?
We are providing all our subscribers with the ability to download the details of individual project contacts via the industry standard VCard process. These VCards can then be imported into most popular contact management / CRM systems such as Microsoft Outlook or Salesforce CRM.
